Contract work can be both the bane and boon of any freelance worker - persistent, predictable income providing a potential progressive platform for further work whilst also committing your resources to a project you may not ultimately see through to completion.

After a year of getting Root Provider off the ground, I was given the opportunity to help an established manufacturing business who also happen to be the UK’s Premier Supplier of Granite Worktops, Granite Zone to help tackle some of the information challenges the growing company was facing.

This was a little bit off the core expertise I hold, however, after getting to grips with IT supply chain work, it seemed an area I could aid with.

The initial work scope was identified as:

  • Investigate, evaluate, and improve all current operational processes whilst also recording information flow throughout the company.
  • Evaluate current customer information flow specifically around email integration.
  • Analyse the current sales processes to both capture lost and unexplored revenue.
  • Introduce new technologies that benefit the company unit, such as CRM and potentially, more customer facing systems to drive higher conversions.
  • Cross-compatibility of current telephony system with potential new CRM.

Which we have been tackling over the past few months and it has been so engaging helping to shape an entire company on a daily basis.

There will be further blog posts on the Hubspot and control panel usage during my work over there , however, this post was mainly to announce a new avenue of work available from Root Provider and to give some shameless promotion for a good friend :
